The following statistics were issued today by TUV (Turkey)
Causes of accidents resulting in death or injury
Driver at fault: 83%
Pedestrian at fault: 11.4%
Vehicle at fault: 5.1%
Road at fault: 0.2%
Number of vehicles inspected in last two years: 11.3 million
Number found faulty at first inspection: 4.6 million
Number of vehicles with broken brakes: 2 million
Number of vehicles with headlight problems: 1.6 million
Number of vehicles with other mechanical problems: 2 million
MINE PASSED
The Total of failures adds up to 5.6 million, not 4.6 million
