This is a new section for those of you who love animals as much as me! Here you can share information on where to buy pet products, recommended vets, animals who need a home etc. About 4 months ago I was told of a small puppy who had been dumped on the beach and was very poorly. The poor little mite was covered in ticks and fleas, was severly malnurished and wouldn't have lasted many more days. As one of the Brits who lives in the village all year round, I decided to rescue the pup and give it a home. It was about a month after owning my puppy, which I named Louie, what type of dog she is, and possibly why she'd been dumped....... she is a Kangal (Anatolian sheep dog), for those of you who don't know, this is a very large breed of dog. Louie has turned out to be a beautiful dog with a lovely nature, even if she is the size of a small camel ;D. Sarah

Sarah, Here's a photo of "little" Louie that Jill took on her last visit. She has probably grown some more since then. Are you still feeding her Cornish Pasties ? Bob tinypic.com/e8mh5i.jpg

Hi Bob,
Thank you so much for the picture! Louie looks great, and yes she has grown since Jill saw her last, only another 3 months and she should be fully grown!
Still feed her anything and everything, she eats me out of house and home ;D

Hi everyone, I wonder if one of you can help me, does anyone have the telephone number of the dog sanctuary in Fethiye, as last night 2 turkish lads left a present of a female puppy at the pension, she is very cute but would like to have a word with the guy I met the other day from there, we already have taken in a street dog who's called Hector that adopted us and need advice on neuturing these if we keep the puppy, and our american guests have named her precious at this moment. cheers Ann

Hi Helen thanks for the info as that is very useful and much appreciated, although the mother has now turned up and taken the pup with her, but it looks like there are 3 of them and they are on the street with the mother at the moment, but I know the guy that came over from fethiye knew about them and they were on about coming over one evening to round up some of the street dogs as there is a big pack of them at the moment roaming especially at night , but again thanks for that, Ann

Please don't take any animals to the sanctuary, although they neuter and spay the street animals, the place is discusting. I went there a couple of months ago, all the dogs had kennel cough and the all the cats were in one hugh cage together and the smell made me almost vomit.
