I would like to know what you recommend visitors to bring with them when coming over to visit friends and family who now live in Turkey, particularly on the food side of things. Is Marmite, Cheddar and Nescafe the most important or is there some other food stuff not readily available that us Brits would love?
Can you get Pork and especially Bacon and if so is it very expensive? Is it legal to bring such stuff into the country as hand luggage?
Just want to get a head start on what I want visitors to bring us when we move. ;D

Hi, I always get asked to bring over cheese, sausages, bacon, corn beef, curry powder, cadburys chocolate, tea bags, the kind of things that you miss. I haven't found that I personnally really miss that much as the market sells such a wide range of fresh produce that I tend to just live on that. But there is a shop now in the Fethiye area that imports things from the UK , they advertise in the landoflights.com so worth a trip in now and again, though I expect it would be a bit more expensive there. But they are beginning to stock more things in the Micros supermarket now that are similar to alot of UK products. Have you found somewhere to live yet? or will you have a look around when you are over this Autumn. Anyway hope that helps you a bit.

Once again thanks Ann. We have not found anywhere yet , we plan to rent first and then go from there really, possibly buy some land and do a off plan build, but will see. House sale seems to finally be going through after such a long time so hopefully will be out there for good January with a possible pre trip in September.

Hi and just to say there are lots of property to rent at the moment in Koycegiz, it seems to be on the increase, but don't pay more than 350ytl per month, if you do you are being overcharged. So good luck in finding somewhere.
