Hi
I don't know where you would find any info regarding Toparlar on the internet.
I can tell you it straggles along the main Dalaman to Marmaris road just on the outskirts of Koycegiz.
You can get lovely lake views as it is higher than Koycegiz itself
It is about 3-4 ks from Koycegiz Lake and the village

Hi all Toparlar is now a popular area for the english buying land and having their villas built, it is also really cheap to rent an apartment there while that is being done as several people are doing that at the moment, you do need transport if you live there though. There are also lots of old turkish houses to buy and renovate in that area as well. property is cheaper in that area as Koycegiz tends to be more expensive, but in the right area you have great views of the lake and moutains behind. The area here is one of the best in Turkey to settle in, ad is within easy reach of Fethiye ad Marmaris, ad has many local attractions. Regards Ann

Hi Barry, I bought a house in Koycegiz just over 4 years ago and certainly haven't regretted it. Being close to the lake certainly has its advantages, and you have a wider variety of shops etc. pretty much within walking distance. Also a good selection of bars & restaurants.
We, like many other of the British people settled in Koycegiz, bought our property through Bulent. He is a totally honest and trustworthy Estate Agent, and his advise has proved invaluable over the years.
I'm not familiar with Toparlar, but can certainly recommend Koycegiz - it really is a beautiful place to live.
Good luck, Bob

Welcome to the Forum, regarding Toparlar, this is a posting I made Oct. 5th 2008 and it still holds good today, nothings changed. "Be very careful buying land in Toparlar, there are some dodgy Tapu's around in Toparlar,I know of 2 people who bought land/ property and can't get the Tapu in their name!!!!!!. A lot of land in Top. is still Government owned, and the Tapu has not been Issued yet, and only Turkish Nationals can buy Gov. land... I suggest that any land you are offered, ask for a clear photo- copy of the Tapu and go to the Tapu Office and ask if it is legal for you to purchase that particular property in YOUR NAME... You will need to go with a person who speaks Turkish , not the owner of the property/Tapu"

Hi Barry, I lived in Toparlar for 9 months, near to the mountains, I found it much hotter than Koycegiz as the mountains radiate the heat, also any where you want to go, you have to have a car. There are no nice walks, as there is no where to walk to. I moved back down to Koycegiz, so much better, within easy reach of the town and the lakeside. Hope this helps
