Dozens Dead In Siberia Jet Crash
A Boeing 737 jet has crashed near Russia's city of Perm, killing all 88 people on board. The wreckage of the Aeroflot Boeing 737
The Aeroflot plane was flying from Moscow and crashed as it was landing in the Siberian town.
It happened in an unpopulated area and no casualties were reported on the ground.
Investigators are flying from Moscow to try and establish what caused the crash but there is no suggestion of an attack or sabotage.
"There were 88 people on board, 82 passengers and six crew," said Emergencies Ministry spokeswoman Irina Andrianova.
"All of them died. There were no casualties on the ground."
Local media said firefighters had extinguished a blaze at the crash site.
Some reports said the airliner crashed in a gully, a short distance from apartment blocks.
Russian President Dmitry Medvedev was briefed about the crash by Emergencies Minister Sergei Shoigu.
