Husband takes his revenge after dying A woman who began to receive harassing emails from her husband's address after he died has discovered that the emails were sent by a friend of her deceased spouse as part of a revenge plot.
H.Y.'s husband, Orhan Y., had thought up the scheme when he was struggling with cancer because he didn't think his wife was taking adequate care of him. Orhan gave his friend, A.Ü., his e-mail password and requested that, after he died, A.Ü. send threatening messages to H.Y. such as "I have my eye on you," "I will choke you one night" and "You better take good care of my daughter, or else." After Orhan had been dead for two months, H.Y. began to receive the emails from his email address. At first believing that the emails were actually being sent by her dead husband, H.Y. began to suffer from psychological problems.
After she had received several of the messages, she filed a criminal complaint with the local public prosecutor's office. The Internet crimes unit of the office discovered that the emails were being sent by A.Ü. A.Ü. was taken into custody in the Kadýköy district of Ýstanbul and confessed that her online friend, Orhan, had provided her with his email address and password for her to send emails to his wife. Speaking to the Anatolia new agency after learning the facts, H.Y. said: "I am bringing up a child. We had a good marriage. All our friends know this. I don't understand why he did this." After being ordered to appear at the Þiþli Courthouse, A.Ü. was released by the court pending trial.
