My wife and I were in Koycegiz 22 oct-28 oct. We spent 3 days looking for a villa that we have rented for 12 months starting in Jan 09. And a couple of days on a quiet relaxing holiday. It was very nice to see the every day life in the town a big difference from the holiday resorts. We also met some British people living in Koycegiz Paul and Marlin and Terry and Patty. We received a lot of sound advice from them regarding renting property in and around Koycegiz. Advice that was to become invaluable in our search for renting property. We met regular in Cicek Cafe, very popular with Brits and the food was not bad either. My wife Christine and I are looking forward to going over in Jan. I will be inviting Paul, Marlin, Terry and Patty for dinner and look forward to going fishing with Terry.

Unfortunateley, there are residents in Koycegiz who think they know all the answers,let me assure you they don't. The only way to know the legalities of renting property is through an Emlak or a Lawyer,and I imagine you have done neither. There are various Laws for Renting properties in Turkey, and I suspect you have not been informed as to what they are. So beware, especially if a non - registered Emlak tries, at some stage, to sell property that does'nt belong to them, it's Illegal!!!!!!!, and the registered Emlaks soon find out, and then it hits the fan.

Thanks Peter, you know how dave gone back to England he loved here and wanna live here rest of his life till we find out he was doing emlak (Estate Agent job) he was finding property for rent and selling property by working with estate agent and he made a website and it was his END. Ý know some more british pople doing this and very soon we will thell them bye because they dont wanna live this country anymore but they can still open estate agent in their country ;D We are collection all the paper work withness website they did for selling,renting property  Bulent |

I don't know if people understand that qualified Emlaks have the same status as Doctors, Lawyers etc., and have done for the last 2-3 years in Turkey.
Foreigners cannot work as Doctors/Lawyers, whatever their Qualifications, and this also applies to working as an Emlak unless there is a Turkish partner with 51% majority interest, and the foreigner still needs a Work Permit.
This discussion should be under another Heading and not under "good week in Koycegiz", and anymore replies should be posted under " foreigners acting as Emlaks", in KOYCEGIZ QUESTIONS .Thanks

That is wrong actually.
But I would always say "use an Emlak and also a solicitor" We bought from Bulent (who we had no problems with and have always found most helpful even now) and also had a solicitor do the legal stuff and overlook everything.

is angryumpire or Koycegizlad implying that people in Koycegiz found or helped me find property for me to rent in Koycegiz. This is not the case I went to an Emlak and they found me rented property. I met some very nice people who gave me some welcome advice nothing more. Stirlingcharlie

Ýts not a problem you gone to Emlak ok?  ? The problem is if you ask me to find property whic is i did find by spending my time and sent you pictures and you told me you will come to see me when you come and you even give me the date you are coming and never come to me or tell me you wont come or tell me you found a property ok? ??(Ý am full regestered Emlak too) if you want i copy the emails you have sent me and i paste here The people you talked doing emlak and telling bad things about some estate agent (ingluding me) but Terry and Patty very nice people . anyway i hope you will have great life here Bulent |

Thanks for email Stirlingcharlie thats ok no problem i hope you will find me next time my office is next to president emlak . and my office call Koycegiz Real Estate ; and president emlak also have another office which is call koycegiz estate agent (they are copying me) propobly they told you Bulent is not here yet which is BÝG LÝE.
