No, its money they collect at the end of Ramadan,you give them what you think its worth to be woken up at 3-4 am in the morning, and you will be back in England at the end of Ramadan, so don't worry about it.
When they start collecting, we lock our gate and they think we are out, and after coming back for a couple of days afterwards, our neighbours tell them we are "yabanci" ( foreigners) and we don't see them again till next year.
