Sitting on my computer yesterday, I heard my gate open, waited , no knock on the door, so I opened it, there were 3 men, one in a suit, looking at my meter, apart from merhaba, not a word was spoken, so I closed the door. Next thing, bang, no electric, opened the door and they were taking the meter out and replacing it with a new white meter which I hadn't asked for and no explanation was given as to why. 15 mins later, knock on the door, sign for this please, gave me an empty box and told me there is a 3 year Warranty on the meter, before I can ask why, they all disappeared. Now this new white meter, has 3 tariffs on it, with varying unit costs: 10.00 - 17.00 normal unit cost. 17.00 - 22.00 expensive unit cost 22.00 - 10.00 half normal unit cost This info is on the Aydem web site with no indication of what the expensive unit cost is, will wait for my next bill. However, we have it sussed to save money. No cooking, using the washing machine or tumble drier before 10 pm., have a shower or bath at midnight if we have to use the immersion heater and change all the bulbs to 10W. The only thing we haven't sussed yet is the air conditioning, one way is to visit our friends every night and sit under theirs till 10 pm My final question is, who pays for this meter, probably me on my next bill.

Don't be bl**dy daft,we have tried the palm leaf, not effective, not enough room in the bath/shower for both of us, (and don't ask), too much heat off the candles.

Have had our leccy bill today, 77 lira ( 21 days ), difficult to work out precisely because we were in UK for 8 days, but working it out over 29 days, our bill would be 35 lira more than the December bill. We were charged 25 lira for the Meter, no complaints there then, however, the Aydem website states that between 10.00pm and 6.00am the cost of leccy is HALF the NORMAL COST and no way can we see where its half price for this period. We are going to talk to Aydem and see what fairy story they tell us, will keep you posted. Our leccy bill works out at £48.00/mth, it will virtually double in the summer with the air con running, this makes the leccy bills more expensive than the UK.
