HERE WE GO AGAIN, its January 1st.

The government cash cow is milking Turkey again, the government
needs to raise 5 billion Lira in 2010 and so they have increased the Consumption Tax on Fuel,ciggies, Alcohol and various other taxes including motor vehicles.
Fuel Tax up 20 kurus
ciggies ditto 5%
Beer ditto 9 Kurus
Wine ditto 1.15 Lira min.
Raki ditto 3.60 Lira min.

These are Government Taxes and expect the retailers to at least double the increases if they want to keep their profit margins

I currently pay 4.40 lira for my ciggies, will be interesting to see what the new price is.

Will let you know what the price of petrol is, I have been told its
3.68 lira/ litre, ( £1.60 )

Oops, nearly forgot, electric is going up just over 1% 1st Jan., but will increase up to 20% in April according to the Gov.

My ciggies now cost 5.5 Lira, an increase of 1.10 lira( 48p ) a packet, this is not a 5% tax increase but a 25% increase, so once again, who is making the money. :

The government cash cow of course.
