Liquids through Security
In their infinite wisdom regarding the liquids security check, the check on the departure gate has been removed, BUT, the second check is now just before Passport Control, all liquids over 100 ml are being confiscated. No liquids over 100 ml are allowed into the Departure Lounge.
Obviously, the Food Outlets and the one remaining Bar ( 3 others closed through lack of trade, ;D ;D ;D ), have complained that drink sales were down, and so you now have to pay 5 lira for a small bottle of water that costs 50 kurus in a supermarket, and I won't mention the price of Efes.
Anther way to rip off the passengers.
However, there is a way round it, you need a baby/toddler, my daughter took 3 small bottles of ready made fruit juice and a small plastic water bottle of white wine through the security and when pulled over, she explained they were for the baby, the security asked her to drink some out of a bottle and waved her through.
JOB DONE.
