Further info posted on another Forum. The British folk ( Residents) were asked to gather round the Meis Express office in Kas and we were told that this would be the last time they could renew their visa. The cut off date for the renewal of 3mth visas will be the 10th Ocotober. After this date and you still want to renew your visa you have to stay out of the country for 90 days. Looks like the "rumour" could be true. Reading various articles, the interpretation is that you can visit Turkey up to a maximum of 90 days during a 180 day period, but when you reach 90 days, the period outstanding on the 180 days is the time you cannot enter Turkey, ie. 90 days in a 160 day period, you are not allowed in Turkey for 20 days, and you can't buy a new Visa until the 180 day period runs out. This will stop the 90 day Visa runs for people that permanently live in Turkey, and not before time.A Visitors Visa is just that, for people who are basically coming to Turkey on holiday, and not for Residents bucking the system. Just imagine the chaos at Dalaman Airport. ;D ;D ;D
