THREE-YEAR PRISON TERM ON DRIVING UNDER INFLUENCE

Turkey's roads and traffic authority is poised to introduce a new traffic law that would set imprisonment terms up to three years for driving under influence. The new draft law also introduces seizure of driver's license in case of five red light violations.

Current Law is 6 mths immediate loss of Licence and a hefty fine for driving under the influence.

Yeah that’s truly an eye opener for me and many other people who are misled into same thinking. My cousin who works for a DUI lawyer told me once about it but I thought he was bluffing. Seems it was for real.
