Consumer Rights under Turkish LawContrary to popular belief, you do have rights under Turkish Law, and the steps you take are as follows; 1) Notify the seller of any defects within 30 days of receipt of goods/service and the statute of limitations is 2 years on goods/services and 5 years on property. The statute of limitation does not apply if the seller is concealing any defect through gross negligence or fraud. 2) You are entitled to 1 of 4 options; a) Full refund.................b) Replacement of faulty goods. c) Reduction in price proportionate to the defect. d) Goods repaired free of charge. The manufacturer, seller and distributor are jointly and severally responsible for these options along with the importer if applicable. If you notify the seller of the option you choose but the seller fails to comply and fulfill your claim, you should apply to either the Arbitration Committee for Consumer Problems or the Consumer Court. The Zabita Office is a good start. Good Luck, it does work, I have sorted out 2 problems to my satisfaction.
