TAXI LICENSES IN ISTANBUL

The price of taxi license plates in Istanbul has increased 29 percent since the beginning of the year, with a taxi plate now costing 785,000 Turkish Liras, compared to 610,000 liras in January.
Thats around £30,000, no wonder the taxi drivers in Koycegiz look miserable, wonder what they have to pay.

is that a one off payment when you apply as cant see they pay that every year ? what about if they change there car or is it same as uk once you have plate its yours either way lot of money dont think i will be taxi driver in koycegiz lol

I assume its a one off payment and the plates are transferred from car to car.
Still a lot of money to find in one go.
