In spite of my so called knowledge on the above subject, its raised its head again, so I went to the Traffic Police to get the correct info from the horses mouth. YES you do need a Turkish Driving Licence if you have lived in Turkey for more than 6 months. The process is straightforward but a long papertrail is involved. a) Traffic Police in Belediye to register b)Translated and Notarised copy of UK licence. c) Form from the Driving School in the Belediye. ?? d) Blood test for blood group e) Health Report off a Doctor. f)Copies of Driving Licence and Passport. g) Residence permit. h)3 photographs i) Receipts of the costs for the Police from the Tax Office, currently 667.65 lira. There are other costs for Translator/ Notary, blood test and doctors report. . GOOD LUCK ON YOUR JOURNEY.
