My wife went to walk into the centre last Monday ( market day ) just after lunch, and when she turned the corner the road was coned off, 2 policeman and a black suit would not let anyone past, the adjoining roads were also coned off with no one allowed past. Apparently there was a suspicious package in the street, the Bomb Squad had been called and about 1 hour later there was a loud explosion, I assume it was a controlled explosion carried out by the Bomb Squad.  Don't know at this stage whether the package was a bomb or just suspicious, I am waiting for more info. If it was a bomb its very worrying and would advise everybody to be on the alert for anything that looks suspicious. |

ah thats where i left my license oh dam are you sure about suspicious packages as that takes into account half of koycegiz looks like we will be busy then

They do like blowing things up! I seem to remember something similar happening in the PPT a few years ago! Keep up the good work Pete - lots of interesting reading. All the best ) |

Apparently the suspect package was someones shopping, it was blown up with a controlled explosion. I bet the owner wasn't amused as the contents were scattered high and wide, explain that one to your other half. ;D ;D ;D |
