Hi all,
Jackie and I will be coming to Koycegiz in May as usual. At long last we intend to open a bank account and were wondering if anyone can recommend a bank to us. We would prefer that it has a branch in Koycegiz and that someone there can speak English. Also can anyone tell me what inerest rates are being paid now and also are there any bank charges for running an account. We appreciate any help that you can give.
Keith

Hi, from a personal point of view we have used Isbank for 8 years, whoever you ask will tell you a different Bank, its a personal choice.
The Isbank have someone who speaks reasonable English and is very helpful, she is the person who would open your accounts anyway.
Interest:Depends on how much you put in the Deposit a/c and what interest period you want, anywhere between 7- 15% and you pay 15% tax on the interest.
There are no charges on a Deposit a/c and a relatively small monthly admin cost on a lira current account, use to be 70 lira a year when we had one.
You will need a Tax Number to open an account in any Bank.
Call round if you want anymore info.
Peter
