SGK is insisting that ex-pats marriage certificates are translated and notorised on their files even if they have a copy of your non-translated certificate, it happened to me.
The way you find out is if your spouse tries to use SSK/Bag Kur at a Hospital, it shows that she is not covered.
You then go to the SGK Office in Ortaca to ask why, and you are then told it's because you need your marriage certificate translated and notorised, its happened to another 2 married couples in Koycegiz today.
I used Bulent to translate our document and paid the Translation fee plus 69 lira for the Notary.
The only reason we found out was that when we went to Ortaca to confirm our new Kimliks, we were told we needed our Marriage Certificate translated and notorised.
