It appears that everyone who has handed in a Translated and Notarised copy of their Marriage Certificate to the above office have wasted the cost of having the document Notarised, me included !!!!!
To explain, a friend went to a Translator in Ortaca last week, after having it translated, my friend told him they then had to go to the NOTER, why ?? he asked, and rang the SGK office, they confirmed that a TRANSLATED COPY OR NOTARISED was acceptable and the Translator could sign the document. My friend went to the SGK Office, handed in the Document and they accepted it.
Apparently in the letter being sent out by the SGK, I haven't seen it yet, it states that the Marriage Cert. has to be TRANSLATED OR NOTARISED.
Please don't shoot the messenger.
