Hi Forum members,
We're considering visiting Koycegiz for our first time in May.
I saw the photos from the floods and am wondering what the status is now? I imagine the town and surrounding area still show damage, but to what degree?
I know Koycegiz could use our tourist dollars, especially now, and we will certainly come at some point, but we would appreciate some reliable and honest information about the current state of things.
Thank you in advance for any candid information,
Jim

Welcome to the Forum, why not introduce yourself in the Members Introduction section so we know a little about you. Koycegiz is basically back to normal except for the area around the Plaza which was badly affected, the Council are working on that area, tidying up and relaying the " beach" ( Called a Beach under advisement), and should be sorted in the next 2/3 weeks.

Dear angryumpire,
Thank you for your reply.
Is heavy construction machinery in use to relay the beach? Tractors and bulldozers and the like?
Thank you,
Jim

Yes to both, but its the same every year as the Council tidies the area every year after the Winter.

That's a brilliant idea we discussed, keep it between ourselves until you have a Work Permit, with your contacts you should get one fairly easily and quickly. Bear in mind that someone has just started a similar business but with your new concept on the same theme you will blast the competition out of the water. Make sure you have a Work Permit and all the necessary paperwork.
