As many officials have continued to warn drivers about upcoming severe winter conditions and with a winter tyre requirement coming into force on Nov. 12, many commercial vehicle owners throughout the country have rushed to auto service shops to get their vehicles checked out for winter. Initially the fine will be imposed on passenger buses and commercial vehicles and will be extended to all cars in future years. A decision by the Ministry of Transport and Communication last week initially requires commercial vehicles to use winter tyres between Dec.1 and April 1, the period that sees the harshest winter conditions in Turkey. The government will issue a fine of 1500 TL to violators of the regulation. Observers expect a similar regulation be introduced for passenger vehicles in the years to follow. Think of the cost for 4 months motoring. When did we last have snow in Koycegiz ??, answer, 23 years ago.

thank you for your reply but you have over looked 2 valid points for wearing a crash helmet the first as you know it would spoil my hair do the second i dont like standing out from the croud and making a statement by wearing a crash helmet as for the tyres as you know my scooter is fairly new and i have had to remove the new tyres and put slicks on so again i dont stand out this is the only way forward in koycegiz if you want to keep in with the mass
